Marjorie M. Sneller, 92

Marjorie M. Sneller, 92, of Jefferson City, MO, was promoted to glory surrounded by her family on Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, at SSM Health - St. Mary’s Hospital. She was born Nov. 7, 1922, in Killduff, a daughter of the late Melis and Marie (Van Gilst) Otten. She was a 1941 graduate of Sully High School. Sept. 30, 1942, Marjorie was united in marriage in Lancaster, MO, to Nickolas W. Sneller, who preceded her in death on May 16, 2000.

Marjorie was store manager and operated the Salvation Army Thrift Stores in Waterloo and Jefferson City, MO, from 1964-1979. She was also a clerk for Woolworth’s and Kress’s. Marjorie attended the First Church of God in Jefferson City, MO, and was a volunteer at the Salvation Army. She enjoyed camping, traveling, sewing, quilting, embroidery, solving crossword puzzles, and playing the piano. She also loved to write and read. She was a NASCAR Fan, especially for her two favorite drivers Carl Edwards and Kasey Kahne; and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and Jay’s football fan. Most of all, Marjorie loved her family, and it was spending time with all of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren that brought her the most joy.

Marjorie is survived by 10 children: Norman W. (Connie) Sneller of Oskaloosa, Ronald D. (Cecelia) Sneller of Pella, Roger E. (Linda) Sneller of Jefferson City, MO; Robert R. (Sandy) Sneller of Holts Summit, MO, Stanley C. (Janice) Sneller of Holts Summit, MO, S. Paul (Janice) Sneller of Jefferson City, MO, Mark G. (Penny) Sneller of Holts Summit, MO, Kevin G. (Penni) Sneller of Holts Summit, MO, Juanita L. (Kevin) Legreid of Holts Summit, MO, and Judith L. (Gary) White of Jefferson City, MO; one sister, Joyce Ritter of Pella; 30 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 13 stepgreat-grand-children; seven great-great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-great-grandchildren; one special nephew, Larry (Sue) Sneller of Jefferson City, MO; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by three grandsons, three great-grandchildren, and one sister, Geraldine Septer.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 26, at the First Church of God in Jefferson City, MO, with Pastor Joe Gregory officiating. Interment followed in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
