Curt, the son of Jay and Lelia Lamb, was born Feb. 6, 1920, in Reasnor. He grew up in Reasnor and graduated from Newton High School in 1940. Curt received a football scholarship to Drake University, but after one year he had to return home to help run the family store, Lamb’s Grocery, in Reasnor. Upon returning, he was united in marriage with high school sweetheart, Wanda Brodersen, on June 14, 1942, at the Grace Chapel Church in rural Reasnor. After being discharged in 1945, Curt and Wanda made their home in Reasnor and continued to run Lamb’s Grocery for over 30 years. Later, Curt worked at Hy-Vee and then for 10 years at the Riverview Release Center before retiring in 1982. He was an active member of the Reasnor United Methodist Church and played fast- pitch softball for the Reasnor team.

Curt was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes, New York Yankees, and Newton Cardinals fan. He enjoyed going to the Iowa State Fair and was a member of the 2010 Jasper County Honor Flight. Curt was a devoted husband and father and enjoyed going to his sons’ activities and games.

Curt is survived by his sons: Randy (Joan) Lamb of Newton and Ron (Jamie Shires) Lamb of Littleton, CO; grandchildren: Brandon (Jen), Tiffany, Jillian (Keith), Derek, Matt, and Pat; and his great-grandchildren: Ben, Emma, Luke, Owen, and Khloe.
