Roozeboom is school winner in Wendy’s High School Heisman

There are some students who set the bar. They work harder, show more passion, and lead by example in the classroom, on the field, and within the community. Lynnville-Sully senior Dylan Roozeboom exemplifies those characteristics and was recently named Wendy’s High School Heisman as a school winner.

“Dylan is known by his teachers and friends for his commitment to excellence. We are excited and honored that a program like Wendy’s High School Heisman is also recognizing his hard work,” said Shane Ehresman, L-S Superintendent.

The Wendy’s High School Heisman was created by Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas in 1994.  Since then, Wendy’s has honored more than 600,000 of the nation’s most esteemed seniors who share Wendy’s values of giving back to their communities, treating people with respect, continuing education, and excelling on the athletic field. To be eligible, applicants need to maintain a 3.0 grade point average or better, be a proven leader and role model within the school and community, and perform in at least one school-sponsored sport.

Dylan Roozeboom, #50, makes a tackle in his last football game as an L-S Hawk. The senior is a leader on and off the field and is Lynnville-Sully’s school winner of the Wendy’s High School Heisman award.

Roozeboom meets all of the criteria and more as a senior leader on the football team this fall, a member of the baseball team, a leader in the weight room, a member of the school’s FFA chapter, and a member of the school's Honor Society. Roozeboom is the son of John and Julie Roozeboom of Kellogg and plans to major in agriculture at Iowa State University next fall.
