Trudy Eggink, 71, of Pella, passed away Aug. 17, 2025. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 21, at Grace Fellowship Christian Reformed Church, Pella, where the funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 22. Memorials have also been designated for her church.
Gertrude Nelly “Trudy” Eggink was born Jan. 23, 1954, to Willem and Corrie (Smits) Droppert. Her family immigrated from The Netherlands, and she lived most of her youth in Hudson.
Trudy attended elementary school in Hudson, graduated high school in 1972, and attended Dordt University studying secretarial sciences. While attending Dordt, she met Larry Eggink. They were married May 10, 1975, in Lincoln Center Christian Reformed Church near Dike. To this union, they were blessed with two children Rachel and Caleb.
Trudy worked as an administrative assistant for Pella Pine Rest for 17 years and for Vermeer Manufacturing for 11 years. She retired in June 2018.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Larry, daughter Rachel (Anthony) Drost of St. John, IN, and their children Aidan and Mason; son Caleb (Jennifer) Eggink of Overland Park, KS, and their children Preston and Owen. She is also survived by her siblings: Carol (Glenn) Johnson of Parkersburg, Gerald (Elaine) Droppert of Sully, and Ron (Vicky) Droppert of Hudson; sister-in-law Cheryl (Bruce) Dragomanovich; brother-in-law Jim (Kellie) Eggink; and many nieces and nephews.
Trudy was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law Clarence and Mary Eggink, and brother-in-law Richard Eggink.
Four of Trudy’s loves were: Faith, Family, Friends, and Flowers.
