Becca was born June 23, 1984,  the daughter of Dennis Imhoff and Kimberly Jacobs Van Roekel in Iowa City. Becca attended and graduated from Montezuma High School with the Class of 2004. She took some childcare classes from Iowa Valley Community College. She worked for a short time at Walmart and also babysat. Until she was faced with health problems, Becca worked at Ahrens Day Care in Grinnell and loved caring for children, and they loved her in return. She was a kid at heart. Becca was born with Dextrocardia with situs inversus totalis, which is a heart defect. She was a fighter and never let her health slow her down. She always stayed active and learned how to cherish life. She had a wonderful outlook on life and enjoyed fishing, camping, driving around listening to music, baking, cooking,  and especially her dog, Maggie. She entered St. Mary’s Hospital in August 2017 and was placed on a heart transplant list. Becca spent many hours baking and cooking for her friends at her hospital room and shared her Insta-pot recipes with family, doctors, and nurses. She had a lot of Nerf ball fun and enjoyed her chirping frog. Family was a huge part of her life, and she loved her nieces and nephew. She was also a member of the Zipper Sisters, an organization of open-heart surgery patients and a member of Sully First Reformed Church.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Antone and Dorothy Imhoff and David Peska; and maternal grandparents, Ron Jacobs and Shirley Gwin.

She is survived by her parents, Kimberly (Neal) Van Roekel of Montezuma, Dennis (Cindy) Imhoff of Marengo; her sister, Hollie (Donavon) Nunnikhoven of Sully; her nieces and nephew, Zoey, HarLee, and Blane Nunnikhoven of Sully; her brother, Tyler (Rachelle Rupe) Imhoff of Clinton, TN; her grandparents, Paul and Sandra Van Roekel and Evan Gwin; and many other relatives and friends.
