Patrick Jay “Pat” Walker, 86, of Newton died Mar. 28, 2015. A private family graveside service was held at the Newton Union Cemetery in Newton.
Pat is survived by his children, Jackie (Jim) Sparks of Mingo, Pat (Randy) Taylor of Reasnor, and Patrick Jay Walker II of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Shannon (Paula) Sparks, Shane (Donella) Sparks, Shanda (Nate) Riggins, Shabana Sparks, Melissa Truong, Samantha (Tim) Collins, Amee (Greg) Pleima, Nathan Walker, Jackie (Jeremy) Dittmer, and Kelly Walker; and his many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Mildred Walker; wife, Joann in 1995; brother, Junior; and sisters, Donna and Linda.
Pat served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Pat worked as a firefighter at the Newton Fire Department for almost 30 years.
He was an active man who was deeply involved in his church for the majority of his life. His family and friends will always remember him as a deeply religious person who dedicated his life to God and his family.
