Nancy Northcutt, 84

Nancy (Jeffrie) Northcutt, 84, of New Sharon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Mar. 11, 2025, at Monroe County Hospital in Albia surrounded by family and a caring staff. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, Mar. 22, at New Life Fellowship in New Sharon. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church with a fellowship/luncheon to follow the service at the McVay Center in New Sharon. A private burial will be held at Friends Cemetery near New Sharon at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to New Life Fellowship Church, or Stilwell Public Library in New Sharon.

Nancy was born July 21, 1940, in Hampton to Leslie and Ruth (Henderson) Jeffrie. She graduated from Hampton High School in 1958 and attended AIB in Des Moines.  Sept. 6, 1959, she was united in marriage to Carl Northcutt in Hampton. To this union three children were born: Dave and Renee (Northcutt) Templeton of Muscatine, Steve and Marybeth Northcutt of Lynnville, and Paul and Suzette (Northcutt) Ver Steegh of Twin Falls, ID. Nancy’s five grandchildren are: Michael (Stephanie) Templeton, Kevin (Dani) Templeton, Orval (Andrea) Shewry, Steven Shewry, and Marisa (Ryan) Ver Steegh-Fletcher. She had eight great-grandchildren: Owen, Audra, and Emily Templeton, Jahaun Templeton, Brett Burk, Hannah and Orval Shewry, and Erica Shewry. She had two great- great-grandchildren Oliver Hollingshead and Odin Harmon.

For many years, Nancy worked with her husband Carl, farming and running C & N Upholstery. She enjoyed family camping trips, reading, flower gardening, and crafting of all kinds. Whenever her children and grandchildren had sporting events and performances, she was always their biggest fan. She loved to cook and share her food with her friends, especially her crème puffs! Nancy could make everyone smile. She loved and supported the New Sharon community. Her outgoing, boisterous personality created the feeling that she was everybody’s grandma.

Survivors include her three children and their spouses, five grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren, and two great-great- grandchildren.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Carl, her parents, her sister Judy Gallogly, and her brother Howard Jeffrie.
