Mildred Stanley, 95

                Mildred Jean (Kruseman) Stanley, 95, of Newton and former-ly of Lynnville, died Wednesday, Mar. 25, 2020, at her home in Park Centre in Newton.

                Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having a public memorial at this time. A private family graveside was held at Friends Cemetery in Lynnville on Monday, Mar. 30. Memorials to Park Centre Activities Fund or Lynnville Friends Church may be mailed to the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton.

                Mildred, the daughter of Everett C. and Christina (Boot) Kruseman, was born Apr. 28, 1924, at her family’s home south of Sully. She graduated from Sully High School in 1942.

                On Aug. 19, 1942, Mildred was united in marriage with Warren V. Stanley in Sully. They made their home on a farm east of Lynnville where Mildred was a homemaker and farmer’s wife. She was an active member of the Lynnville Friends Church and had served on various church committees including the Ladies Missionary Society where she enjoyed sewing quilts and blankets. Mildred also liked planting flowers.

                Mildred is survived by her two daughters, Nancy (Ron) Toppenberg of Newton and Linda (Jerry) Fleagle of Coralville; grandchildren, Carol (Royce) Dexter of Urbandale, Cheryl (Dennis) Piotraschke of Johnston, Brian (Terron) Toppenberg of Norwalk, Mark (Tricia) Fleagle of Waukee, Scott Fleagle (fianceé, Jaime Lang) of Des Moines, and Michael (Madelyn) Fleagle of Chicago; grandson-in-law, Brian Papa of Effingham, IL; and her great-grandchildren, Lauren, Braden, Alysen, Carissa, Aaron, McKenzie, Morgan, Madison, Emmory, Carter, and Ethan. 

                She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren Stanley; granddaughter, Christen Papa; sister, Maxice Northcutt; and brother, Milo Kruseman.
