Mel Beyer, 65, of Russellville, AR, died Friday, July 4, 2014, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. He was born Sept. 23, 1948, in Newton, to Harold and Grace Fopma Beyer. He was former co-owner of Vermeer Midsouth in Russellville and a member of the Fellowship Bible Church. He was Papa to his grandchildren, and he loved spending time with them. He also loved the water, boating, and jet skiing, and enjoyed golf.
He was preceded in death by his father, and a son, Scott Beyer.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Linda Beyer; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Kerri Beyer of Springdale and Shawn Beyer and Jennifer Pauley of Memphis, TN; his mother, Grace Beyer of Sully; two brothers, Dwight (Joyce) Beyer of Lynnville and Russell (Charlotte) Beyer of Pella; and five grandsons, Zachary, Lucas, Cody, Harrison, and Hudson Beyer.
The funeral service was July 8, in the Shinn Chapel. Burial was in Rest Haven Memorial Park, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville, AR.
