Mark De Vries, 67

Mark De Vries, 67, passed away July 17, 2022. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, July 22, at Garden Chapel Funeral Home, Pella.

Mark Allen De Vries was born Jan. 5, 1955, to Henry A. and Erma Helen (Roorda) De Vries in Oskaloosa. Mark grew up in Otley, was a 1972 graduate of Pella High School, and attended trade school.

Oct. 29, 1988, he was united in marriage to Deborah Moses in the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

Mark was an auto mechanic and a jack-of-all-trades. He owned the DX Station in Monroe for many years, then he managed Acetylene Plant in Ankeny, and worked for US Cellular and Hackert Sales and Service in Sully. Mark became an ordained priest in the Community of Christ Church in Monroe. He was bursting with Bible knowledge.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Deb and their family: Duane and Lacey Olivier of Monroe, Chris Olivier and Chelsea Erickson of Beaman, Perry and Kelly Olivier of Newton, and Mandy Olivier of Grinnell.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings Arvin, Emily, and Neva in infancy.
