Lynn Kleinendorst, 94

Lynn Arthur Kleinendorst, 94, of Newton, passed from this life on Wednes-day morning, Mar. 23, 2016, at Careage of Newton. A time of remembrance and the funeral services will be at a later date at the Community Heights Alliance Church in Newton. Visitation will be at the church following the funeral services, with a lunch and fellowship time. Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton has been entrusted with the arrangements. Burial was in the Newton Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left in Lynn's name to Community Heights Alliance Church or a charity of your choosing.

Lynn was born May 30, 1921, near Newton, the son of Arthur and Ethel (Dysart) Kleinendorst. He attended and graduated with Newton Senior High School Class of 1940.

Feb. 22, 1942, Lynn was united in marriage with Helen Marie Jess in Nevada, MO. To this union three children were given: Warren, Margaret Jean, and Barbara. For over 60 years he farmed in the Jasper County area. He also was employed at Maytag and as an insurance adjuster for Jasper Mutual Insurance. Oct. 13, 1991, Lynn was preceded in death by his wife Helen. Lynn was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Feb. 11, 1995, Lynn was married to Dorothy E. Van Kampen-Zwank in Newton. He was a longtime member of Community Heights Alliance Church in Newton, the 50-50 Club, and Jasper County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and his church.

Lynn is survived by his wife Dorothy; his daughters: Jean (Hank) Weuve of Colo and Barbara Lynn (Dennis) Hoover of Pleasant Hill; his son Warren Arthur Kleinendorst of Boone; Dorothy's daughter Kris (Kevin) Zimmerman of Galesburg; his grandchildren: Sherri (Stan) Hunt, Craig (Beth) Weuve, Sarah Hoover, Joel (Liz) Hoover, Derrick (Annette) Zimmerman, Kara Zimmerman, and Daniel Zimmer-man; his great-grandchildren: Ryan Hunt, Kalie Weuve, Michael Weuve, William Hoover, Sam Hoover, Olive Hoover, Georgia Grace Zimmerman, and Kaitlynn Hunt; and great-great-grandson Hayden; sisters-in-law: Betty Jess and Pat Kleinendorst; brother-in-law Ken (Linda) Elscott; and special friends: Jim Douglas, Ken Versteegh, Mark Hoffert, and Brad Worthington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Helen; daughter-in-law Mony Kleinendorst; and his brothers Don Kleinendorst and Keith (Virginia) Kleinendorst.
