Leslie Garnett Proudfit, 54

Leslie Garnett Proudfit, 54, of Oskaloosa, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. He was born Nov. 17, 1961. He attended school at Lynnville-Sully. Leslie worked several places throughout his life, including McDonald’s, Oak Tree Villas, and a pallet company in Jefferson City, MO. When he moved to Iowa, he worked for a security company at Pella Corporation and for Pine Grove Nursery. He enjoyed landscaping, gardening, and sports. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots fan.

His family includes his two children, Sierra Lynn Proudfit (fiance Codie Phillips) and Dusty Eugene (Toni) Sneller, all of Jefferson City, MO; six grandchildren, Jaden Lynn Butcher, Liliana Marie Butcher, Nevacity Love Rayshan Phillips, Addilynn Sneller, Karleigh Sneller, and Quintin Sneller; his mother, Eva Mae Proudfit of Grinnell; and a sister, Lana Proudfit.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Virginia Ewing.

As a final gift of generosity, Leslie has donated his body to the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 5 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Steve How officiating.
