Larry Allen Renaud was born on March 22, 1945, in Des Moines. He grew up with an older sister, Linda Lee, and their parents, Robert and Mary Whitcomb Renaud. Larry was educated in the Lynnville-Sully Schools and graduated from Lynnville-Sully High School in Sully. During high school, he and Lynda Kay Huyser met and were united in marriage June 18, 1965, at the Sully First Reformed Church. Soon after their marriage, Larry and Lynda built a new home on land of her parents, Gerrit W. and Helen G. De Penning Huyser. To this union two children were born: Todd Darin and Stacey Kay. They continued living in this home the remainder of their married life.

During this time, he farmed as well as owned and operated L&L Concrete Construction Company. Larry enjoyed just being outdoors, hunting, and fishing. His favorite place was spending time on the dock by his pond watching nature. His shop was a retreat for him, and he never really fully retired.

Larry and Lynda became members of the Third Reformed Church in Pella in 2001.

Larry is survived by his wife, Lynda; and their two children and their families: Todd (Angie) Renaud and their daughter, Ryley, of Overland Park, KS, and Stacey (Greg) Greenlee and their two sons: Cole and Carson of Prior Lake, MN. In addition, Larry leaves three brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law: Howard Huyser of Pella, Myron (Nancy) Huyser of Badger, Gary “Gerrit” (Linda) Huyser of Auxvasse, MO, and Ila Mae Huyser of Grinnell; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Linda Dixon; his parents-in-law, Gerrit and Helen Huyser; and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Edward Huyser and Vernon and Lucille Huyser.
