Keith E. Schwartz, 68

Keith E. Schwartz, 68, of Reasnor, passed from this life on Sunday morning, Oct. 11, 2015, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Community Heights Alliance Church. A time of remembrance and memorial services will be at 1 p.m. at the church, with burial at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in Keith's name to: Reasnor First United Methodist Church, Community Heights Alliance Church, or the American Heart Association.

Keith was born Sept. 25, 1929, in Newton, the son of Roy Elmer and Clara Josephine (Johnson) Schwartz. He attended Reasnor schools and was a Class of 1947 graduate of Newton Senior High. Keith served his country with the US Army Signal Core during the Korean Conflict.

On May 16, 1950, Keith was united in marriage with Alice "Marilyn" Brown in the Little Brown Church in Nashua. For over 60 years, he was self-employed as a carpenter and built many homes. Keith was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend; he will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. He was a member of the Reasnor First United Methodist Church and later attended the Community Heights Alliance Church in Newton. He had also served on the Reasnor Telephone Board and on the Reasnor City Council for 40 years.

Keith is survived by his wife Marilyn; his daughters: Linda Kay (Curt) Brown of Monroe and Janet Lou (John) Graham of Des Moines; his four grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Kenneth Schwartz; and a sister, Verle G. Paul.
