Kathryn Crawford, 96, passed away Mar. 6, 2026. Celebration of Life Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, Mar. 20, at Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella. The Art Show begins following the service at Garden Chapel Funeral Home and lasts until 12:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to Marion County Humane Society.
Kathryn Jean (Anway) Crawford was born May 21, 1929, to Harold Anway Jr. and Wilma Dennis in Charles City.
Sept. 22, 1951, she was united in marriage to Donald Crawford Sr. in Cedar Rapids. They met at Iowa State University.
Kathryn was self-employed most of her career as an artist, seamstress, and art teacher. She later worked at Boomsma Egg and Produce and Jaarsma Bakery. Kathryn was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Kathryn first attended Cedar Rapids High School and later graduated from Iowa State University in the College of Home Economics, with a major in applied art.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children Donald (Ellen) Crawford, Cheryl (Dennis) Waits, and Caroline Crawford; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents and brother.
