Jeanettea M. Van Waardhuizen, 84

Jeanettea M. Van Waardhuizen, 84, formerly of Beaman/Conrad, passed from this life on the morning of Sunday, Mar. 13, 2016, at Dave’s Place Nursing Home in Keokuk.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Mar. 17, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown with Pastor Loren Strait of the Central Christian Church officiating.

Born Jeanettea Harsselaar on June 27, 1931, in Grinnell, she was the daughter of Albertus “Bert” H. and Jennie (DeKoening) Harsselaar. She attended school in the area of her birth. Jeanettea was united in marriage to Alvin Dean Van Waardhuizen, and even though their marriage parted, they were blessed with three children. She enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting, and embroidering. She resided in the Conrad-Beaman communities and was a member of the Wellsburg Christian Reformed Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Shirley George of Marshalltown, Judy (Calvin) Dewey of Marshall, AR, and Melvin (Betty) Van Waardhuizen of Marshalltown; seven grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; her sister Elizabeth (Gerald) Van Hemert of Sully; and many nieces and nephews.

In death, Jeanettea rejoined her parents; two brothers, Aart and Albertus; and two sisters, Cornelia Harsselaar and Johanna Van Wyk; and a great-granddaughter, Makayla Levis.
