James W. Rozendaal, 79

James Willard Rozendaal was born Mar. 1, 1935, in Lynnville to John and Jerena Rozendaal. He died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, in Chico, CA. He attended local schools in Sully and later served in the U.S. Army.

Jim received his BS degree from Northeast Missouri State University and his MBA from the University of Arkansas.

He married Beverly Ford White on June 30, 1967, and the couple lived in Little Rock, AR, and Topeka, KS. They later lived in Bishop, CA, where Jim owned a half interest in a CPA practice and then settled in Chico in 1975. Jim was a professor in the accounting department at Chico State for many years and was president of James W. Rozendaal, CPA, Inc. He was a CPA for over 50 years.

Jim was a past president of the Chico Breakfast Lions Club and the Salvation Army Advisory Board. He was a former member of the Sunrise Rotary Club and the Butte College Foundation.

Jim enjoyed fishing, writing, and spending time at the coast.

He is survived by his wife, Bev of 47 years; two daughters, Peggy (Cliff) Carter and Shari (Andy) Krauss; a brother, Bob (Marilyn) Rozendaal of Sully; two sisters, Shirley (Dave) Schippers of Lynnville and Joan Rozendaal of Waterloo; and five grandchildren.

Private family services will be held at a later date, and memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Enloe Hospice.
