Iris Plummer, 75

 

Iris Plummer, 75, of Sully, went home to be with the Lord a little after 7 p.m. Dec. 30, 2022, at The Comfort House in Pella surrounded by her family. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023, at Sully Community Church. Interment was in Sully Cemetery. Memorials have been designated for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Patient Aid Program, PO Box 12268, Newport News, VA 23612.

Iris Mae Plummer was born Apr. 5, 1947, to Cleo and Maurine (Vande Krol) Van Der Kamp in New Sharon. Iris lived most of her life in the Sully area and was a 1965 graduate of Lynnville-Sully High School. Aug. 23, 1966, she was united in marriage to Gerald Dieleman. To this union two children were born: Curtis and Sherri. Gerald died tragically in an accident in 1972.

Iris married Roger Plummer Nov. 10, 1984.

Iris loved spending time with her family, especially her grand-children. She and Roger enjoyed traveling all over and road trips in the convertible. She had many interests, some of those were: Card games, puzzles, colored pencil art, embroidery, and especially shopping for shoes and purses.

Iris worked for Wes Finch Auto Plaza as a title clerk for many years. She retired Dec. 31, 2013.

Iris was a member of Sully Community Church.

Her family includes her husband Roger Plummer of Sully; Curtis (Doris) Dieleman of Phoenix, AZ, Sherri (Bernie) Lleverino of Gilman, Kent Plummer of Omaha, NE, Erica (Matt) Garris of Blair, NE, and Rachel Andersen of Monroe; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her siblings: Bryce (Shirley) Van Der Kamp of Montezuma, Roger (Jean)Van Der Kamp of Sully, and Euni Scholten of Sully.

Iris was preceded in death by her first husband Gerald Dieleman, parents, and parents-in-law Harry and Ernestine Dieleman and Don and Lila Plummer.
