Harriet Fisk, 85

Harriet Fisk, 85, of Lynnville, passed away Saturday afternoon, Oct. 22, 2022, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Lynnville Friends Church. Burial will be held in the Woodland Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Lynnville-Sully Athletic Boosters

Harriet Diane Fisk, the daughter of Theodore Vernon and Pauline Sadie (Stephen) Tice, was born Sept. 6, 1937, in Mahaska County. She graduated from Searsboro Consolidated School on May 18, 1955. Sept. 11, 1955, Harriet married Benny Dale Fisk. To this union, one son and one daughter were born - Kraig Timothy Fisk and Kristine Diane Fisk. They lived at a farm south of Searsboro for many years until they moved to Lynnville. Harriet loved to work as housewife, acquire cardinal bird collectibles, attend sporting events, and golf with her husband Ben. Harriet worked for James Greenhouse for many years, and she was an avid seamstress. Together, they attended and camped at the Iowa State Fair for more than 40 years.

Benny and Harriet had two children - Kraig Timothy Fisk of Searsboro and Kristine Diane Fisk of Fairfax, VA; three grandchildren - Jason (Jeana) Fisk of Searsboro, Joshua (Valerie) Fisk of Searsboro, and Taylor (Zach McNaul) Fisk of Lynnville; one adopted grandson Mike Large; 13 great-grandchildren - Kobe (McKinley) Fisk, Kolton Fisk, Carson Fisk, Kaylynn Fisk, Clay Sandifer, Lane Fisk, Landyn Fisk, Gavin Fisk, Cori Fisk, Hannah Fisk, Audrey McNaul, Stetson McNaul, and Judson McNaul; three siblings Ray (Gaynelle) Tice, Janet (Lester) Maudlin, and Dave (Penny) Tice; sisters-in-law Shirley Tice and Roberta Tice; along with many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Benny Dale Fisk; brothers Roger Loren (Phyllis) Tice, Ronald “Bud” Stephen Tice, Jerry Richard Tice, and Larry Randall Tice; parents-in-law Alfred and Lucille Fisk; brother-in-law Daniel Boone (Irene) Fisk; and sisters-in-law Betty Lou Moore and Peggy Ann Fisk.
