Esther Lavon Barr, 93, formerly of Kellogg and Reasnor, died Saturday, Apr. 30, 2016, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Garden Chapel Funeral Home arranged the cremation, and a memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Newton on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at 2:30 p.m. A visitation will be held that day from 1-2:15 p.m.
Esther L. Miller was born in Searsboro on Apr. 7, 1923, to Clyde and Marie (Tish) Miller. On Aug. 30, 1940, she was wed to Owen W. Barr in Lancaster, MO. Those left to honor her memory are sons Ronald of Page, AZ, and James of Reasnor; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 23 great-grand-children; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Those passing before her were her daughter Lavon Dunker, husband Owen, and brothers Lloyd (Bing), Floyd, Claire, and Ivan.
Esther was a devoted wife and mother. She knew Jesus and taught Sunday School for many years. Esther will be greatly missed.
