Dwight Eric Vos, 55, of Newton died Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, at his home. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 25, at the Sully Christian Reformed Church. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton. Memorials to the VFW Post 1655 or the Sully Christian Reformed Church may be left at the funeral home or the church the morning of the service.
Dwight, the son of Raymond and Lois (Nieuwsma) Vos, was born July 7, 1962, in Newton. He grew up in Newton and later lived in Worthington and St. James, MN, before returning to Newton where he graduated from high school with the Class of 1981. Dwight worked for Dodd’s Trash Hauling and Recycling for the last 16 years. He was a member of the VFW Post 1655 and attended the Sully Christian Reformed Church. Dwight was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Iowa Hawkeyes fan.
Dwight is survived by his brother, Dennis (Mici) Vos of Polk City; niece, Cassie Vos (Michael Perrault) of Ankeny; and nephew, Cody Vos of Polk City. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Darwin Vos.
