Duane Arthur Van Zante, 76, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his wife, Lucinda, in care of Pierschbacher Funeral Home, 110 N Harlan St, Knoxville, IA 50138.
Duane Arthur Van Zante was born on Oct. 28, 1948, to Delmon and Lucille Van Zante. He grew up in the Lynnville-Sully area. Duane graduated with the Class of 1966. From a young age, he worked alongside his father on the family farm where he developed a lifelong appreciation for hard work, integrity, and rural way of life.
Duane married the love of his life, Lucinda, on Oct. 8, 1982. They shared a beautiful life together for 43 years. Duane dedicated much of his life to Van Zante Construction, where he built pole buildings and worked with his hands. His love for woodworking extended beyond the jobsite; it was his passion and creative outlet.
Above all, Duane loved his family deeply. Whether he was gathered around the table or simply sharing a laugh on the porch, he treasured every moment with those closest to him. His quiet strength, warm smile, and dependable presence will be missed by all who knew him. Duane leaves behind a legacy of hard work, craftmanship, and love- a life well lived and deeply felt.
Duane will be greatly missed by his wife Lucinda; children Tracie, Tony, Dana, Stephanie, and Sarah; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
