Dorothy E. Zwank-Kleinendorst, 92

 

Dorothy Evelyn Zwank-Kleinendorst, 92, went home to be with her Savior on Friday, June 3, 2022, in Pella. A time of remembrance and celebration of life will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 16, at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Visitation will be prior to the services, 9:30-10:15 a.m. Burial will be in Sully Cemetery.

Dorothy, the daughter of Bennie and Viola (Renaud) Van Kampen, was born Mar. 13, 1930, on a farm north of Sully. She was a high school graduate.

Jan. 5, 1949, Dorothy was married to Jacob A. Zwank in Reasnor. She was employed by the Sully Co-op in the office and later as a custodian in the music department at Central College, retiring in 1994. There she was loved by all the students. Jacob preceded her in death on Mar. 23, 1992. Dorothy was a member of the Community Heights Alliance Church and enjoyed her CTL Group and Bible study groups. Feb. 11, 1995, Dorothy was united in marriage with Lynn Kleinendorst in Newton. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Kristine Lynn (Kevin) Zimmerman; Lynn’s children: Jean (Hank) Weuve, Barb (Dennis) Hoover, and Warren Kleinendorst; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Derrick (Annette) Zimmerman, Georgia, Sadie, and Jacob; Kara (Dustin) DeHaan; and Daniel (Shayla) Zimmerman; and a great-grandchild due in September; also Lynn’s grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren: Sherry (Stan) Hunt, Craig (Beth) Weuve; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; and her many good neighbors and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands Jacob and then Lynn on Mar. 23, 2016; her sister Darlene Van Der Zyl; a great-niece; and her dog Blondie.
