Darlene Annee, 87

Darlene Annee, 87, of Newton,  passed on to her eternal home on Friday, Mar. 29, 2024. Funeral services were  held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Apr. 3, at Pence-Reese Funeral Home, Newton. The family suggests memorials to Wesley Life Hospice.  Burial was in Newton Union Cemetery.

Darlene Annee, daughter of Glayde and Bernice (McIntosh) Dyer, was born Aug. 20, 1936, in Allerton. She attended Seymour High School and graduated with the Class of 1955. After high school, Darlene moved to Newton, where she resided most of her life. June 3, 1961, in Grinnell, Darlene was united in marriage to John Annee.  Darlene worked for the Grinnell Telephone Company of Iowa, and she worked for  US Bank in Newton until her retirement.

Darlene loved being with her family. She expressed her love through her cooking and baking.  She was a member of First Assembly of God in Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John who died on Dec. 6, 1997, and her brother Floyd Dyer.

Those left to honor the memory of Darlene include her sons and daughters-in-law Timothy (Kendra) Annee of Galesburg and Jeffrey (Lisa) Annee of Newton; three grandsons Reece Annee, Ryan Annee, and Parker Annee; sister Janette Paige of Chariton; brothers and sisters-in-law Clarence and Debbie Dyer of Chariton, and Ray and Jodi Dyer of Des Moines;  several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
