Funeral services for Corrie Terpstra, 97, of Oskaloosa and formerly of Sully, were held Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at Sully First Reformed Church. Corrie passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8, at the Crystal Heights Care Center in Oskaloosa. Interment was in Sully Cemetery. Memorials have been designated for the Harris Lee Terpstra Scholarship Fund.
Corrie Terpstra, the daughter of Cornelis "Case" and Neeltje Van Holland Vonk, was born Sept. 2, 1916, in Marion County. She grew up in the Otley area and later the family moved to Reasnor. She completed the eighth grade in Jasper County.
On Dec. 3, 1935, Corrie was united in marriage with Cornie Terpstra at the Sully First Reformed Church parsonage. They were blessed with four children: Loren, Harris Lee, Stephen, and Logan.
Corrie enjoyed being a housewife and caring for her family. She will be remembered for caring for her invalid son, her hard work, never complaining, always smiling, and her great sense of humor. In her free time, she liked to quilt. Corrie was a faithful member of the Sully First Reformed Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Logan Terpstra of Sully; her daughter-in-law, Audry Terpstra of Pella; grandchildren: Jeff (Lavne) Terpstra, Christy (Alan) Radach, Steve (Amy) Terpstra, Todd (Erin) Terpstra, Wynette Terpstra, and Devin Terpstra; great-grandchildren: Ben (Kristin) Terpstra, Kristal Terpstra, Erin Radach, Leila Radach, Adam (Brooke) Terpstra, Kiley Terpstra, Johanna Terpstra, and Isaiah Terpstra; and two sisters: Effie Robison of Newton and Evalena Van De Wege of Denver, CO.
Corrie was preceded in death by: her husband, Cornie, in 1993; her three sons, Loren, Harris, and Stephen; her four brothers; and ten sisters.
