Cornelia Vos, 87

Cornelia Vos, 87, of Sully, passed away at Pella on Sept. 2, 2018. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, at Sully Christian Reformed Church. Memorials have been designated for Sully Christian School and Hospice of Pella.

Cornelia (Rolffs) Vos was born May 10, 1931, south of Sully to Dick and Minnie Rolffs.

Cornelia attended several country schools and graduated from Sully Christian School. She attended high school three years, was baptized and made profession of faith in Sully Christian Reformed Church, and met Wilbur Vos at Sunday night Bible study.

Cornelia was a housewife and mother, worked 17 years as an aide at Grinnell hospital, and later at the Sully grocery store. Cornelia and Wilbur were married Aug. 26, 1952, in Taintor. To this union five children were born.

Cornelia and Wilbur enjoyed going on vacations, and attending grandchildren’s and great- grandchildren’s sporting events. They adored them all! For 25 years, they enjoyed going south for the winter months. They also enjoyed camping and biking. Cornelia loved baby-sitting her grandchildren. She also loved to sew baby blankets and crochet afghans for all the grandchildren and great-grand-children.

Cornelia is survived by her husband Wilbur; five children: Stan (Carla) Vos of Pella, Marla (Kirby) Wood of Eddyville, Sheryll (Steve) Johnson of Brighton, MO, Dennis (Kris) Vos of Sully, and Kerry (Angie) Vos of Knoxville; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and another due in November; her sisters: Janet (Guy) Jansen, Dorothy (Marion) Vos, and Mildred Lanser; and her brothers: John Rolffs and Marvin Rolffs. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law: Hermina Rolffs, Mavis Vos, Erma and Elva Vos.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dick and Minnie Rolffs; her parents-in-law Cornie and Henrietta Vos; her grandson Shane Johnson; her brother Henry Rolffs; a brother in infancy; and her brothers-in-law: Louis Lanser, Melvin Vos, and Ivan Vos.
