Cora Jansen, 101

Cora Jansen was born Oct. 9, 1916, to Kors and Jennie (Nikkel) Harthoorn near Lynnville.  She passed away Jan. 27, 2018, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell at the age of 101. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Sully Christian Reformed Church. Memorials have been designated for St. Francis Manor, Grinnell.

Cora attended country school near Lynnville and lived in the Lynnville-Sully area her entire life.

July 19, 1938, she was united in marriage to Henry Jansen at the Sully Christian Reformed Church parsonage. Together they made their home on the farm and were blessed with five children: Marjorie, Don, Thelma, Jan, and Gene.

She was a member of Sully Christian Reformed Church and active in the Lydia Society sewing days.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Don (Karen) Jansen of Lynnville; son-in-law Glenn Vanderpol of Sully; and daughter Jan (Ryk) De Goey of Sully; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grand-children; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Ernestine Dieleman of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her husband Henry; her children: Marjorie Jansen, Thelma Vanderpol, and Gene Jansen; her siblings: Francis, Cornelia, Case, Jennie, and Dorothy; and three infant great-granddaughters.
