Colleen Guinever Arthur, 100, passed away peace-fully on July 2, 2025, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshall-town. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grinnell Friends Church in memory of Colleen.
Colleen was born Oct. 25, 1924, in Montezuma, to Ora and Irene (Miller) Fudge. She graduated from Searsboro Consolidated School in 1943 and later married Kenneth Carl Arthur on Mar. 4, 1947, in Newton. Together, they raised four children: Alan, Kenny, Brett, and LeAnn.
A devoted homemaker, Colleen poured her love into her family and her home. She was a remarkable cook—famous for her pies that seemed to come together in mere minutes—and she lovingly baked wedding cakes for many in her community. She found joy in her garden and took great pride in raising her children on the farm she cherished.
Colleen is survived by her children, Alan (Barb) Arthur, Kenny Arthur, and LeAnn Poulos; her grandchildren, Craig (Amy) Arthur, Angie (Steve) Conner, Andrea Poulos, and Collin Poulos; and her great-grandson, Caleb Arthur.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, her son Brett Arthur, her parents, her three sisters, and her two brothers.
Colleen’s life was a quiet testament to love, hard work, and devotion to family. She will be deeply missed.
