Carol Jean Laughlin, 68, of Pella died Sept. 4, 2020. A private funeral mass was held Wednesday, Sept. 9, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pella.
Carol was born June 14, 1952, to Robert Allen and Donna Lou (McNeil) Lynde in Cherokee.
Aug. 25, 1973, she was united in marriage to Leo Joseph Laughlin in Washington. To this union, they were blessed with three children: Christopher, Michelle, and Sherri.
Carol dedicated her life to education and teaching. She was always learning about teaching both for schools and church. She taught in public schools for 22 years including at Lynnville-Sully School and was the director of religious education at St. Mary’s Catholic Church for 22 years where she received many awards. Carol was giving of herself and her time and always put others first.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Leo and their family: Chris (Lyndsi) Laughlin, Michelle Laughlin, and Sherri (Andrew) Bradley; four grandchildren; her father Robert Lynde; her sister Jo (Ted) McMurtrie; and her brother Mickey (Kathy) Lynde.
Carol was preceded in death by her mother Donna Lou Lynde.
