Bill was born July 28, 1931, the son of Stewart and Clara (Dost) Campbell, near Marshalltown. He graduated from Newburg High School in 1948. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. It was through luck and mutual friends that Bill met the love of his life, Irene Main. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
