Beverly Thompson, 90

Beverly Thompson, 90, of New Sharon and formerly of Lynnville, passed away Saturday evening, Feb. 6, 2021, at her home under hospice care. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Holland-Coble Funeral Home in New Sharon. Burial was in Friends Cemetery in New Sharon. Memorials may be made to the Harvest Church.

Beverly Mae Thompson, the daughter of Glen and Wanda (James) Williams, was born Sept. 27, 1930, near Lynnville. She graduated from New Sharon High School in 1948 and attended William Penn College. June 12, 1949, Bev was united in marriage to Harold Dwight Thompson at the Friends Church in New Sharon. In 1960, they adopted two children, Michelle and Mark. Bev was the Postmaster at the Taintor Post Office, the bookkeeper at D&P Lumber, and the teller at Taintor Savings Bank all in the same building at the same time for nearly 30 years. She was a hard worker and enjoyed keeping herself busy. Bev also enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, and canning and was an excellent seamstress. She also made the best strawberry rhubarb jelly. Bev was a member of the Taintor Community Church, the Taintor Ladies Circle, and the Harvest Community Fellowship.

Her memory will be honored by her husband of 72 years, Harold Dwight Thompson of New Sharon; her son, Mark (Pat) Thompson of New Sharon; her daughter, Michelle DePenning of New Sharon; her grandchildren Cameron (Tiffany) DePenning, Jasmine Aubry and Valerie Aubry; four great-grandchildren, Liam Emerson, Bryer DePenning, Jeremiah Aubry, and Luna Bear; and many friends.

Bev was preceded in death by her parents.
