Betty Collum, 91, of Grinnell, died on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell.
Funeral service was held Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.
Burial was at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.
Memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church and sent in care of the Smith Funeral Home.
Betty was born July 24, 1923, in Lynnville to Vernon and Eva Mae Bowen Ratcliff.
She was raised in Lynnville and graduated from Lynnville High School with the Class of 1941.
On Dec. 31, 1941, she was married to Ambrose Collum in Grinnell and to this union was born three sons.
The family lived in Grinnell, and she worked at the North Market and later for McNally's Food Store. She also worked at the former Gaumer Locker in Grinnell.
She enjoyed following college sporting events on television and cooking for her family.
Survivors include three sons: Daniel R. Collum of Indianapolis, IN, James E. Collum and Steven P. Collum, both of Grinnell; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers, Walter, Gene, and Roy Ratcliff; and two sisters, Rosemond Johnson and Marilyn Ratcliff.
