Arvin W. Lanser, 66

Funeral services for Arvin W. Lanser, 66, of Pella were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 1, 2015, at Federated Fellowship Church in Pella. He died Mar. 27 in Des Moines. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been designated for Inspirations Childcare and Preschool in Sully and Federated Fellowship Church in Pella.

Arvin Wayne Lanser was born in New Sharon to Arie J. and Johanna (Wielard) Lanser on Jan. 31, 1949. He lived most of his life in the Sully area. He attended Sully Christian School through eighth grade and then attended Pella Christian High School.

Arvin was married to Ronda Terlouw on July 22, 1970. They were blessed with two children: Dawn and Trisha.

For the past 20 years, he has been working in the concrete industry, most recently for Skyline Ready Mix.

He had a great love of gardening, woodworking, and fishing. Arvin especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was well known as being a hard worker, always lending a helping hand, and loved to laugh. Arvin grew in his relationship with Christ while attending Federated Fellowship Church in Pella.

Those who will cherish his memory are his two children: Dawn (Jason) Allbee of Sully and Trisha (Blake) Korns of Pella; grandchildren: Derik, Logan, and Jenna Allbee and Olivia and Andrew Korns. He is also survived by his sisters, Ilene Meppelink of Pella and Gladys (Russell) Stravers of Lynnville; his brother, Melvin (Wanda) Lanser of Lynnville; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers-in-law, Marvin Vande Voort and Marvin Meppelink.

Arvin will be missed by his many friends and family.
