Arie W. Boot, 94, passed away Aug. 9, 2025. Visitation was held from 1-2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 12, at Corner-stone Church, Pella, followed by a private family interment at 3 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Pella.
Arie was born Oct. 18, 1930, to William A. and Alta (Ver Meer) Boot, in Pella.
Arie was baptized and made profession of faith at Second Christian Reformed Church in Pella. He attended Plain View School, was a graduate of Pella Christian High School, and took courses from LaSalle University in Chicago.
Sept. 10, 1953, he was united in marriage to Alveretta Van Den Berg at Second Christian Reformed Church. To this union three children were born: Randal Eugene, Vicky Lynn, and Kevin Lee. Following college graduation, Arie started Boot Bookkeeping and Tax Service in Pella and continued with accounting work until he retired.
Arie was a lifelong member of Second Christian Reformed Church (now Cornerstone Church). He was a member of the Dutch Masters Auto Club for many years. In 1991, he received the Community Service Award. He had served as treasurer of Classis Pella CRC for 57 years. Arie also served on the board for the Pella Historical Society, Barnabas Foundation, Pella Kiwanis, Pella Opera House, Marion County Bank, Vermeer Manufacturing, Second Christian Reformed Church, Pella Christian Grade School, Pella Christian High School, and Christian Opportunity Center Foundation. In 2016, he moved to the Des Moines area. Arie’s hobbies were traveling and antique cars. He had visited 10 different countries and over 40 states.
Those left to remember him are his daughter Vicky Stringer; grandchildren: Matt (Anna) Boot, Jenny (Tim) Lunkley, Rick Stringer, Randa Arielle (Matt) Olson; great- grandchildren: Jenna (Jacob) McGhee, Henry and Holland Boot, Landon, Hudson Arie, and Kaden Olson; great-great-grandson Wyatt McGhee; and brother-in-law John Van Den Berg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alveretta in 1990, infant son Kevin in 1961, and son Randy in 2016.
