Alan Farrington, 60

Alan Farrington, 60, of Searsboro, passed away Thursday evening, Dec. 15, 2016, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 19, at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the family's name.

Alan Wayne Farrington, the son of Jim and Norma Jean (Tish) Farrington, was born July 9, 1956, in Oskaloosa. He attended North Mahaska High School before graduating from Montezuma High School with the Class of 1974. Al enlisted in the United States Navy where he was stationed in California and served four years before he was honorably discharged. He was married to Isabel Sifuentes. To this union two children were born, Jayson and Brittany. They later divorced. Al worked as a machinist in a shipyard in San Diego for several years before moving back to Iowa in 2006. He was an avid golfer and loved spending time with family and friends. Alan was a member of the Church of Christ.

His memory will be cherished by his children, Jayson Farrington of San Diego, CA, and Brittany Farrington of San Diego, CA; two grandchildren, Nakhia and Elias Farrington; his siblings, Nancy (Walter) Hagist of Searsboro, Rebecca (Skip) Fatzinger of Montezuma, Pamela (Michael) Benelli of Phoenix, AZ, Scott Farrington of Montezuma, and David Farrington of Montezuma; and many other friends and relatives.

Al was preceded in death by his parents; one nephew, Tony Farrington; and two nieces, Shawna Hicks and Andrea Farrington.
