The new Sully Central Park playground equipment and swingset are scheduled to be installed Friday and Saturday, May 29-30. The playset committee needs 12-15 volunteer workers to help accomplish the installation. The installation will begin 8-9 a.m. A representative from Boland Recreation will lead the installation. Lunch and snacks will be provided. Contact Teryl Ver Ploeg (641-831-2983 or email: [email protected]) if you can help one or both days. If you can only help part of the days, still contact Ver Ploeg.
The following items are needed for the installation. If you plan to help with the installation, please identify which of these items you will be able to supply:
- Minimum of five battery-powered drills two-1/2” and three-3/8”
- Drill bits of various sizes (1/4”-1/2”)
- Come-a-long
- Tape measures
- Two rubber mallets
- Three step ladders six feet or taller
- 3/8” nut driver for self-tapping screws
- 1/4-5/16” hex shank adaptor, 3/8” drives
- 3/8” drive ratchets (at least six needed)
- Sockets 3/4” and smaller for 3/8” drive
- 3/8” socket adaptor
- 1/4 hex shank magnetic insert bit holder
- Four 9/16” open ended/box wrenches
- Safety fencing for around current playset and swingset areas
- Two levels (one at least four feet long)
- Hack saw or reciprocal saw
- Allen wrenches
- Two pair of sawhorses
- Shovels, spades, post hole diggers (power digger preferred)
- Hand mall or sledge hammer
- Wheelbarrows for moving concrete
- Large channel lock wrench
- Two pry bars
- Two drift punches
- Metal files
- Containers for sorting hardware
- Two Vise-grip
- C clamps
