Van Wyk joins newspaper staff

The Hometown Press is pleased to welcome advertising specialist Ashley Van Wyk to its staff. Van Wyk started at the Hometown Press in October and is eager to help businesses with their advertising needs.

A 2003 graduate of Prairie City-Monroe High School, Van Wyk grew up in Monroe and attended Dana College in Blair, NE, graduating in 2008. She has worked at UCC Community Preschool in Grinnell, Inspirations Childcare & Preschool in Sully, and as a stay-at-home mom and is a welcome new face in the newspaper industry.

Van Wyk lives in Sully and is married to Tony. They have a three-year-old son, James. In her free time, Van Wyk loves spending time with her boys and family, watching Hawkeye football, camping, fishing, and traveling to visit her sister and brother-in-law in Kansas.

In her first two months at the Hometown Press, Van Wyk has jumped headfirst into her new position and has already helped many customers and advertisers – something she is looking forward to continuing.

“Every day is a new experience, and I have a lot of fun coming to work each day,” she said. “I’m also enjoying getting to meet and work with so many people in the community.”

Van Wyk can be reached by calling 641-594-3200 or emailing adshometownpress@netins.net.
