In an effort to continue their campaign for new playground equipment at the Sully Ballpark, the Sully Hometown Pride Committee has launched a new fundraiser. “Shoe us the Love” is the new fundraiser that asks for support through the donation of gently worn, used, and new shoes.
From now until June 19, people are encouraged to donate shoes to a good cause and declutter in the process! Anyone can help by donating gently worn, used, and new shoes – donations can be dropped off at the Hometown Press, Lynnville and Sully libraries, or by calling Julie Van Wyk at 641-990-0902.
The donated shoes will be redistributed through the Fund2Orgs network of 4,000-plus microenterprise partners in developing nations. Donating shoes to Sully Hometown Pride’s latest fundraiser gives shoes a second chance and makes a difference for people in impoverished nations. Sully Hometown Pride Committee will earn funds for phase 2 of the ballpark playground project based on the total weight of pairs of gently worn, used, and new shoes collected.
