Sunday, Aug. 4, marked a memorable day in Sully Christian Reformed Church’s history. The congregation celebrated the installment of Pastor Darren Kornelis during the morning service. Following the installation led by Calvary CRC Pastor Brad Bierma, past and present council members were invited to lay hands on Pastor Kornelis during a time of prayer. Pastor Kornelis then led the remainder of the morning service.
Pastor Kornelis, his wife Emily, and their two daughters Molly and Maggie come to Sully from the Niekerk Christian Reformed Church of Holland, MI.
Sully Christian Reformed Church was officially organized in 1896. Since then, 20 pastors and several interim pastors have served the congregation of Sully CRC. Pastor Kornelis will be the 21st senior pastor in the church’s 125-plus-year history.
