Smokin’ J’s grand reopening Feb. 25

After a nearly four-month closure, Smokin’ J’s Barbecue will be opening their doors for a grand reopening under new ownership on Friday, Feb. 25.

Smokin’ J’s Barbecue will be open from 4-10 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, and Saturday, Feb. 26, at its downtown Lynnville location at 203 1st Street. Moving forward, Smokin’ J’s will be open every Friday and Saturday from 4-10 p.m., with the kitchen closing at 9 p.m. The new owners and staff look forward to serving local patrons the same award-winning  smoked meats and sides the restaurant has been known for, and they will also be offering catering services.

Smokin’ J’s sold to Ben and Jeana Van Haaften last fall after founding owners Jeff and Jodi Arment announced their retirement. Since November, the Van Haaftens have remained busy setting up accounts, taking certification classes, and finalizing licensure and inspection steps.

The Van Haaftens look forward to the challenge of operating a restaurant. In fact, owning a restaurant has been a dream of Ben’s. Ben is a seasoned smoker in his own right and is known for trying to perfect his craft and trying out new smoking and grilling techniques and recipes. The Van Haaftens and their staff are excited to welcome customers and serve the community with dine-in, carry-out, and catering options.
