SCS cashes in with Casey’s and the I-Cubs

SCS students, families, and teachers accepting the $26,000 check at the I-Cubs game include Kasen and Ellet Christensen, Harvey Rankin, and Tommy Ansley in the front row. School board president Mark DeVries is holding the check. Sarah Christensen, Logan and Sandi DeVries are in the middle row on the left. Reston Ansley, Kelly and Kent Kastendick, and Alex DeVries are in the back, far right.

Take me out to the ballgame took on a whole new meaning for Sully Christian School students and their families when they recently accepted a $26,000 Casey’s Cash for Classroom grant at an Iowa Cubs game at Principal Park in Des Moines.

The Cash for Classrooms Grant Program allows Casey’s Rewards members to donate points to a school of their choice. In 2025, Casey’s Cash for Classrooms awarded more than $900,000 through 80 grants. SCS plans to use the funds to update whiteboards and purchase Smart Boards.
