Rock and Roll in Lynnville Saturday

Plans are underway for Lynnville Day on Saturday, June 18, with the theme Rock and Roll in Lynnville. Some new things are in the works as well as the revival of past favorites.
The day’s events start at 8 a.m. with a color run/walk, check Facebook for details. 1st State Bank will serve donuts, coffee, and juice at 8:30 a.m. A golf tournament will be held starting at 9 a.m. at Diamond Trail Golf Club. The craft and vendor fair will be on East Street north of city hall.

A variety of items are planned from 9 a.m. to noon including the 10 a.m. parade. Parade participants are asked to line up near the car wash at 9 a.m. A car and tractor show will join the 10 a.m. parade. Following the parade, the car show will be at Val’s Fine Dining and tractors on display on 1st Street near the bank.

Heart of Worship will sponsor local talent and entertainment on the stage near city hall after the parade.

Diamond Trail Children’s Center is sponsoring a bounce house and kids games. Scavenger hunt cards should be picked up at the stage, and winners will be drawn from correct cards with prizes of $25 gift certificates to Val’s, Smokin’ J’s, and ZIP IN donated by 1st State Bank. Hotdogs and popcorn will be served at the library. Miniature golf will be in the Friends Church yard. Barrel train rides can be boarded near city hall. Pay It Forward will have a bake sale.

ZIP IN will have specials all day. Val’s Fine Dining is creating special Lynnville drinks available Saturday night. Smokin’ J’s and Riverside Junction will be open as usual, too.
In addition to all of the fun and unique events, Wagaman Mill and Museum will be open for tours. Lynnville Library will have cowboy story time and craft.
Loose-meat sandwiches for freewill donations will be served by Lynnville Fire Department.

Rest time is 1-4 p.m.! Dinner will be served from 4-9 p.m. at Smokin’ J’s and Val’s Fine Dining. Music on the Patio at Val’s Fine Dining will be 7-10 p.m. The library’s outdoor movie, “Little Rascals,” at 8:30 p.m. will conclude the celebration.
