Playground for ages 2-5 in place at Sully Ballpark

The new playground equipment designed for ages 2-5 is ready for fun and play at the Sully Ballpark. The area features a fire station playhouse, two police car spring riders, and a saddle spinner.

The first phase of the new playground equipment by Sully Hometown Pride Committee was completed last week Tuesday through Friday for ages 2-5 at Sully Ballpark.

Landscape Structures Inc. installed the fire station, police car, and saddle spinner. Earthworks Inc. completed the dirt work in the center of the area and added the pea gravel for drainage. Earlier, Sully Construction Inc. had completed the sidewalks and complete drainage for the area.

Next up for the area is the playground’s second phase, which is the installation of larger playground equipment at a cost of approximately $220,000. Direct any questions regarding donations to committee members Julie Van Wyk, Nicholas De Penning, Nicole Oliver, Shelby Shinkle, Cathryn Dunsbergen, or Margaret Vander Weerdt.

Mark your calendar for the next fundraiser, Festival of Christmas Trees and Wreaths, to be held from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Sully Community Church gym in conjunction with Sully Christmas Celebration on Saturday, Dec. 6.
