A longtime and passionate supporter of the Lynnville-Sully community is feeling the love in return. For many years, Rhonda Pool of Sully has served as an advocate for the community and all Lynnville-Sully student athletes and staff members. Her voice of encouragement and contagious positive spirit have touched the lives of many as she has become one of the community’s brightest and best cheerleaders alongside her husband, Tom, who serves as pastor of Lynnville Heart of Worship Church.

In late August, Pool was diagnosed with brain cancer. She underwent surgery soon after the diagnosis and is currently receiving radiation treatment five times a week.

On Oct. 9, the Lynnville-Sully volleyball team held their annual bake sale in conjunction with Pink Out Night. The team chose Pool as the recipient of the funds they raised in just one night, $859. Pool, her husband Tom, and daughter Emily and her family were present at the last regular-season home volleyball game on Thursday, Oct. 16, when the entire team presented a very grateful Pool with “the most beautiful card.” Pool, emotional by  the show of support and generosity, said, “I can’t believe what happened last Thursday night. The girls gave me the most beautiful card they had all signed. They raised $850 to be a comfort to me during this time. I am so thankful for these kids and their kindness. I’ve just been blown away by the love and support I have gotten from this community.”
