Lowry crowned 2026 Jasper County Fair Princess

Hayden Lowry was crowned Jasper County Fair Princess at the June 13 royalty coronation.

Summer is heating up as the days of June pass by, which means county fair time is just around the corner. The 2026 Jasper County Fair is already living up to its glowing theme of “Let’s Glow Crazy” and has selected two young ladies whose love and passion for the fair glow from within. Hayden Lowry, 16-year-old daughter of Jason and Jennifer Lowry of Searsboro, was crowned Jasper County Fair Princess on Saturday, June 13, at the royalty coronation held at Newton Community Theater. Seriah Nolin was crowned Jasper County Fair Queen.

As Jasper County Fair Princess, Lowry and Nolin will represent the fair and promote all of the amazing opportunities it has to offer by participating in county parades, being present at community events and various activities leading up to the fair, and spending the duration of the week at the fairgrounds. There, they will serve as positive mentors, supporters, and helping hands with the many events that will take place during the 171st Jasper County Fair that runs July 17-23 at the fairgrounds in Colfax.

Lowry has been involved in the Jasper County Fair since she got her start showing bottle calves at just six years old. She became an official member of the Killduff Hotshots club at 9 years old and has been actively involved since.

Lowry has made a name for herself in the show ring as a poultry, sheep, and swine exhibitor and has been a great leader paving the way for youngsters while assisting in Little Peeps, Little Squealers, Little Lamb, and bottle calf shows as well as the helping hand, she lends in the annual Friendship show. Over the years, she has accumulated numerous ribbons with her static projects, she has graced the crowd with her musical talents in Share the Fun contests, and she has sewn her way into the hearts of veterans as a seamstress for the Quilts of Valor program. Additionally, Lowry served the Lynnville-Sully FFA Chapter as treasurer her sophomore year of high school and will serve the chapter as vice president next school year.

Lindy Bokhoven, daughter of Cassie Elscott of Sully, was also a contestant in the Jasper County Fair Queen contest. All contestants were judged on the basis of poise, personality, and ability to converse at a competitive contest. The judging was divided into the following divisions: Application/social media review, interviews (personal, group, speed round), on-stage introduction, casual wear, presentation, formal/evening wear, and pop question.
