When Braxton Brand of rural Searsboro attended a Farm Progress Show in Decator, IL this summer, he never dreamt he would be the proud recipient of a free EA Vision J150 Drone. By attending the show, making a couple of social media posts, and writing an essay, Brand was entered into a giveaway contest sponsored by Agri Spray of Booneville, MO, the most experienced distributor of agricultural spray drone technology. With over 200 applicants, Agri Spray Drone choose Brand’s story because it embodied everything they do at Agri Spray Drone, their values of integrity, education, and service.
Brand began his business, Brand Aerial LLC, earlier this year, and in his first year he has covered over 5,000 custom acres and 1,000 spreading acres with his J100 Drone. On Sept. 29, the young entrepreneur won a J150 Drone, roadrunner, and generator – the entire package – which was delivered to his family’s farm and over doubled his equipment offerings. He was surrounded by his parents, Cory and Heidi Brand, brothers and sister, and grandparents Rail and Tana Brand of Sully during the surprise visit by Taylor Moreland, founder of Agri Spray Drones.
Brand is excited to try this new drone with a cover crop job and some pastures yet this fall. While he has covered many acres from Holiday Lake area in Iowa all the way south into Missouri, he is specifically looking for more business in the Sully and Grinnell areas. He also will be looking to add two additional people to help with his drone business.
