Happy Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving season, we would like to express our gratitude to all of our readers. Thank you for picking up this newspaper and sharing in our community’s triumphs, trials, and day-to-day happenings. Thank you for being our eyes and ears – for supplying pictures, news tips, story ideas, and more as we strive to provide coverage of everything that takes place in the surrounding communities many of us call home.

May you all have a very blessed Thanksgiving, surrounded by those you love and hold dear.

Thank a Farmer

Did you know a bushel of corn can sweeten 400 cans of pop, make 38 boxes of corn flakes, or produce more than 2.5 gallons of ethanol?

Farmers tackle some of the toughest jobs in some of the roughest conditions, yet they don’t always get the recognition they deserve. They work day in and day out, producing food, fuel, and fiber for America and the world.

As farmers finish the long days of harvest, let us acknowledge our farmers. It’s been said that once in your life you need a doctor, a lawyer, a policeman, and a minister. But every day, three times a day, you need a farmer. Thank you for all you do to put clothes on our backs and food on our tables.
