The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia came to life on the big screen in Sully Central Park with over 150 in attendance on Saturday, June 11, for the viewing of Disney’s “Zootopia.”
“Considering the attendance number, the age mix, and positive comments received, the community's first movie in the park event was a success,” said Teryl Ver Ploeg of Sully Development, which sponsored the event along with the City of Sully and Sully Lions Club. “The Lynnville-Sully fourth and fifth graders picked an enjoyable movie to watch. If people want to see another movie in the park, I would encourage them to contact a City of Sully official or send a comment through the city's website, sullyia.com.”
Throughout the evening, concessions were available on the multi-purpose court. Zimm’s Kettle Korn kept popping their sweet and salty treat, and Deep Rock Ice Cream Shoppe remained open during the movie.
“Thank you to everyone who attended the Movie in the Park. Thanks to the Sully Lions, Sully Development, City of Sully, Zimm's Kettle Korn, Sully Hometown Pride Committee, Deep Rock Ice Cream Shoppe, and Hometown Press for your help making the event possible,” Ver Ploeg said.
