Cornelia L. (Van Kooten) Jansen, 94, of Cutlerville, MI, went to be with her Lord on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024. Funeral service was at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, Grand Rapids, MI, with Rev. Jeff Vanderhooft officiating. Interment was in Blain Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a Christian school of one's choice or to Pine Rest Patient Assistance Fund.
Cornelia was born and raised in Sully, where she married Charlie Jansen, and began their family.
She had a tremendous influence on numerous children in her work as a school bus driver, beginning in Sully and continuing for many years after the family moved to Cutlerville, MI. She was a talented quilter and gardener, but above all, she was a devoted wife and mother and absolutely loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Cornelia was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years Charlie, her sons Mark Jansen and Tim Jansen, and several brothers and sisters.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children Allen (Marcia) Jansen, Russell (Jill) Jansen, Sharon (Mike) Gallup, LeAnne Jansen, and Susan (Pete) Vander Weide; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; her sisters Delia DeJong and Norma (Carroll) Harthoorn; her brother Ed (Judy) Van Kooten; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Berdena Vos, Wilma Van Kooten, Melvin (Marilyn) Jansen, Janet Jansen, and Arlyn Jansen; and many nieces and nephews.
