October is National Fire Prevention Month, a time when we should all be aware of ways to help learn fire safety and prevention. It’s also the perfect time to thank the people dedicated to keeping our communities safe and who are the first on scene when help is needed. THANK YOU to all the volunteers in the local fire departments.
The Lynnville Fire Department has two upcoming fundraisers. This Saturday, Oct. 28, will be their Soup Supper and Pumpkin Roll. The pumpkin roll starts at 4:30 p.m. on Main Street in Lynnville. Pumpkins will be provided, or bring your own. A soup supper will follow from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the fire station. On the menu will be chili and potato soups, bars, juice, and coffee. Freewill donations will go toward equipment upkeep and supplies. Then, on Sunday, Nov. 5, will be the annual Lynnville Firefighter’s Breakfast from 6:30-10 a.m. at the station. The freewill donation meal includes pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, juice, milk, and coffee.
